DTF PRESSING INSTRUCTIONS
Just to let you know, the pressing instructions provided on this page are meant as a general guide. We, personally press our DTF transfers in-house for 10 seconds at a temperature range of 305-310 degrees with heavy pressure using a pneumatic press. However, it's important to note that each person's press may vary and can have different levels of wear and tear. We recommend finding your own "sweet spot" by experimenting with your press settings to achieve optimal results.
Â
To ensure optimal results, follow these steps for pre-pressing your garment:
Pre-Press: Prior to applying the image, press the garment for 5 seconds. This step helps remove wrinkles and any potential moisture trapped in the fabric.
For the first press:
Set your heat press to a temperature of 300-310 degrees. The ideal time range is 10-15 seconds. Apply medium pressure to the garment, ensuring that the image is properly placed. Each heat press may vary, so some experimentation might be necessary to achieve the best results.
Peel Hot:Â It's recommended to gently rub the film with a cloth for easy removal.
For the second press:
To achieve a shiny look, cover the image with Teflon. For a matte look, use parchment paper. Set the heat press to 300-310 degrees and apply medium pressure for 5-10 seconds.
Note: It's important to maintain firm and even pressure for good adhesion. Avoid any pockets, seams, buttons, zippers, or other obstructions within the press area.
Tips for different fabric types:
Polyester/Blend Fabric: Lower the temperature to 280-290 degrees and shorten the press time to 3-8 seconds. These fabrics absorb heat at a faster rate, so adjust accordingly. If the transfer is not adhering to the fabric, you can press multiple times.
100% Polyester: Lower the temperature to 250-285 degrees and shorten the press time to 3-8 seconds. This fabric may require some tweaking to determine the best time, temperature, and pressure. It's recommended to practice and experiment to find the optimal settings. If needed, press multiple times, allowing the fabric to cool in between each press.
Remember to always allow the fabric to cool before handling the garment.
